Lets do Argan Oil Part 2

Did you know….
  • Argan oil is an antioxidant – known as nature’s answer to botox (No! ….seriously?), it is a Vitamin C and E packed oil perfect for combating free-radicals and works as an anti-aging agent (yes! Yes!).
  • Argan oil softens dry skin – Argan oils high concentration of vitamin E and essential fatty acids alleviates skin complications like dry skin or dry patches (perfect during harmattan).
  • Argan oil reduces the appearance of wrinkles – Applying under the eye results in the reduced appearance of crinkly lines under the eye.
  • Argan oil reduces skin imperfections – with regular use Argan oil for skin has been shown to heal acne blemishes and prevent new breakouts.

Argan oil is rich in essential nutritional components for skin and hair. It is therefore not required to use Argan oil in large quantities. A few drops of Argan oil is sufficient for applying on skin. However it is desirable to apply it thoroughly into the hair especially at the roots.

It is often used as a mixture of Argan oil, sweet Almond oil and Rose oil, however pure raw Argan oil can also be used although in much smaller volume.

In case of pure raw Argan oil only a few drops of Argan oil are required. For facial usage very gentle massage is needed because of the easily absorbable attribute of Argan oil. It can be used in place of other freshening creams or lotions at night for curing dryness of the face.

On wrinkles and other scars caused by certain skin diseases, a small volume of Argan oil once or twice a day is enough to get desirable results. It has a soothing effect for Arthritic and Rheumatic conditions as well.

It is better to use Argan oil regularly to pre-empt stretch marks especially during pregnancy. Argan oil can be massaged gently over stretch marks, as it restores the elasticity of the. The non-greasy and non-oily nature of Argan oil makes it a very good make-up base (I bet you never knew that!).

Normally a 50-50 mixture of Argan oil and lemon juice is used for application on nails. Dip you fingers up to the cuticles into Argan oil mixture for a few minutes. It strengthens nails and smoothens cuticles. Your toes can also be treated with Argan oil.

Argan oil can be used as a deep conditioning treatment for hair. If you are short on time, you can braid your hair, pull it up, or wrap it in a warm, damp towel, leaving it alone for as long as you can. If you have more time, another option is to wrap your hair in a clean, dry towel and leave the treatment in overnight. Extra hours allow for the argan oil to absorb and nourish. If you decide to leave the oil overnight, it is important not to overlook covering your hair with a towel so the oil does not seep out onto pillows or sheets.

Apply argan oil during your normal shower. After shampooing hair, simply work some oil through your hair the same way you would with your regular conditioner. Thick, curly, or coarse hair can benefit from applying argan oil to the whole head, while those with fine for thin hair should probably only apply from the middle of the length to the ends. Leave the oil in for a few minutes to absorb, and then rinse it out.

Argan oil for hair can be a great styling and finishing product as well as a conditioner. Applying a small amount of oil to ends before heat styling can protect hair from drying out or becoming frizzy. Similarly, smoothing a small amount of argan oil onto hair after styling promotes a smooth, glossy, frizz-free finish.

Argan oil is also useful in getting rid of dandruff in hair (probably a bit expensive for this…)
